
After nine months of intense action across South America, Lanús and Atlético Mineiro are the final two teams competing for the 2025 Copa Sudamericana title on November 22nd in Asunción, Paraguay. Lanús reached its third final after winning the tournament in 2013 and finishing as runners up in 2020, advancing this year with strong performances against Fluminense in the quarterfinals and Universidad de Chile in the semifinals. Atletico Mineiro makes its first appearance in a Copa Sudamericana final and enters with momentum after finishing as runners up in the 2024 Copa Libertadores. Under head coach Jorge Sampaoli, the Brazilian side aims to become only the ninth club to lift both the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana trophies.
